Avanti West Coast

Avanti West Coast runs frequent, fast and comfortable train services from London Euston to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and North Wales, the Lake District, Carlisle and Glasgow. They also run services on train lines from Birmingham to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Facilities Onboard Avanti West Coast

WiFi

Every Virgin Train is equipped with WiFi is free to use for First Class passengers and there are several WiFi packages for Standard Class passengers, with 60 minute and 24 hour plans available. WiFi onboard Avanti West Coast is provided by T-mobile.

Power Sockets

All First Class seats have power sockets for charging laptops and mobile phones. Power sockets are also available at Standard Class table seats (but not at Standard Class airline seats). Make sure you select 'table seat' when making a seat reservation on assertis.

Shop

Every Avanti West Coast train is equipped with The Shop - a walk-in facility selling food, drinks (including Fairtrade coffee), magazines and newspapers.

Quiet Zone

All Avanti West Coast include a quiet zone in coach A in Standard Class. Pendolino services also have a quiet zone in coach H in First Class. Use of mobile phones is not permitted in these coaches. You can select 'quiet coach' as part of your seat reservation preferences when booking your train tickets.

First Class

All Avanti West Coast services include First Class Accommodation. Seating is larger than in Standard Class, all seats have access to power points for charging mobile phones and laptops, WiFi is free to use and on weekdays, complimentary newspapers are provided. On many services complimentary food is also provided. Holders of First Class Advance and First Class Anytime tickets (including Virgin Business Returns) can also access the First Class Lounges, free of charge.

First Class Lounges

First Class lounges are available at London Euston, Coventry, Birmingham International, Birmingham New Street, Wolverhampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe, Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street.

The First Class lounges offer free WiFi, TV and Bloomberg news, working and relaxing space, and complimentary Fairtrade hot and cold drinks, snacks and newspapers on Mondays to Fridays. At Euston there are also showers and mobile phone charging points.
